The ambient temperature sensor used for frost protection has failed or is reading out of range.
This needs a licensed gas technician. There is nothing safe to check yourself. Leave the covers on and book a professional.

Loose or damaged sensor wiring, or a failed sensor.

The sensor has been covered with insulation instead of being open to outside air.
